6/1 - “I’d like to thank the Academy and Manny Ramirez”

During the final night in Vegas, a friend was at the Blackjack table getting his last fill of gambling. Standing over his shoulder, me and two other people were advising and encouraging.To my friend’s left was a middle-aged man who was completely trashed. It appeared he had a lazy eye, but since he was so fucked up, I thought maybe this eye thing was a side effect of that. I’ve seen people’s eyes do some weird things after a lot of drinking.
After a good hand, this guy, who was a native of Boston, started thanking people for his winnings.
“I’d like to thank God, my mother, and Manny Ramirez.”
So awesome, but I think I’m gonna take a while before I go back Vegas again.
