7/16 - “More great progress from the human race”

By The Stabbing Pen | July 16, 2008

This is one of those subjects I almost decided not to write about since it’s such an incredibly easy one to poke fun at.  It fits into the Britney Spears category in that sense (Yes, I’m aware I’ve written about her several times).

I’m not sure how far we are along in this project, but the idea that we are going to construct (or have plans to) a fence that extends along the U.S. / Mexico border is probably one of the most asinine ideas I’ve heard in years.  Is this really the best way to cure a supposed immigration issue?

This just seems like such a medieval concept to me, and I can’t help but laugh.  Relationships between countries are complex, and this seems like such a “playground” solution.  It’s very “I Love Lucy,” if you will.

I’m sure our fence will never match the aesthetic beauty of The Great Wall of China, and will probably be a piece of shit looking chicken-wire.  Personally, I think a picket fence probably suits our personality as a country the most.

If it’s not successful keeping Mexicans out, at least we shouldn’t have any trouble with those pesky Mongols…
