7/20 - “I don’t give a shit about first ladies”

Here’s the only possible relevancy they have to a presidential candidate — “If the wife of a presidential candidate is severely flawed, and the man loves her and has chosen her to start a family with, what might that say about his character and decision making ability?”
Even that is a questionable philosophy though. I mean, if you adhere to the notion that we don’t really always choose who we “fall in love” with, then if Obama’s wife or McCain’s wife truly are bitches, is it necessarily a poor reflection on them?
It’s just that what bothers me is that these women seem to get way too much attention and focus from the media. They are unimportant to me, and (should) have no real influence on any policy making.
I’m sure Obama’s in bed with his wife watching The Tonight Show asking her for advice on Iraq, as they figure out who will be picking the kids up from soccer practice tomorrow.
