10/21 - “Them Orientals are gooder at the learning”

I often makes notes in my cell phone for future blog posts, and I recently made a note to myself to write something about McCain’s and Obama’s policies on education. My point was basically going to be something along the lines that in this country it’s not even so much whether vouchers, etc. versus public school is the issue.
The reason many countries (like China) have smarter kids than us is because of our culture and priorities. While little Chinese kids are doing their math homework, our latch-key kids are playing Guitar Hero, eating Burger King, and Googling Paris Hilton.
Besides the above analysis being rather obvious, I realized that the note in my phone read “education not matter mccain obama dumb.” So yeah, I definitely don’t have the answers to improving this country’s educational system.
