One more thought on Prop 8 (the proposition to overturn legalized gay marriage) on California’s upcoming ballot — I’ve seen both ads on TV for “Yes on 8”, as well as for “No on 8.”
Those in favor of yes seems to be playing up the whole “What if gay marriage is taught in school?” angle. WHAT IF IT IS? First of all, sexual orientation is not a choice, so it’s not as if merely acknowledging the existence of gay marriage will turn your kid into a big time fag instantly.
I could see it now, a mother puts her kid on the bus in the morning, and then he comes home in the afternoon and tells his parents suddenly how excited he is to suck some cock.
Besides the ridiculousness that simply acknowledging the existence of gay marriage in schools turns kids gay, it’s not as if this acknowledgment will be replacing other subjects. NO MATH TODAY. NO ENGLISH. You will only be learning about man-on-man salad tossing scenarios (and girl-on-girl “scissoring” too of course).
The worst thing is that at the end of one of these Yes on 8 TV ads, this woman looks directly into the camera and warns us about how devastating it would be to “teach” gay marriage in public schools. Obviously I disagree with her, but the thing is — SHE ISN’T ANYBODY. She isn’t a professor, a doctor, a philosopher, or any type of prominent public figure. WHO ARE YOU? Why is your opinion important to me?
