11/3 - “Smoking, atmosphere, and people I wish didn’t exist”

By The Stabbing Pen | November 3, 2008

I smoke about 4 cigarettes a year.  The smell of cigarettes sometimes bothers me, but usually not.  Even though these carcinogens were probably created in Satan’s labratory, something about the odor makes for good atmosphere.  To me, I don’t even think it has much to do with all these smoking bans being hyped up within the last decade or two.  It’s not as if these bans themselves have made smoking and the smell somehow more alluring to me.

Whether it’s exiting a stadium, or outside the bar on a brisk fall night, I somewhat strangely enjoy being around the smoke.  Of course as well, it depends who’s smoking.  If he/she is a fat, hideous, annoying, stupid, ugly, and ignorant human being lighting up a smoke, I’m probably less likely to be into the cigarettes for atmosphere in this spot.

  1. I agree. Now that I don’t smoke anymore, I hate being the drink watcher or the table holder while my friends go smoke. Much more exciting out with the smokers.
