Earlier tonight I attended my first ever Mets game at Citifield, and the Mets went out and played a rather dull game in a 4-1 loss to the Phillies.  My experience at the ballpark was an overall pleasant one, and given that it’s a brand new park, it should be impressive.

Since it’s both the weekend and summer, even more Phillies fans than normal seemed to make the trip up to NY to see the game in person.  While walking around the concourse of the park, I could both see and hear the trashtalk before the game had even started.

At one point some Phillies fan was headed back toward his seat, but while he was walking his head was turned around looking and cursing at some other Mets fan.  He accidentally bumped into me, and while screaming obscenities at someone else, he tapped me on the shoulder in an apologetic fashion.  I thought that sweet.
