It’s just about finally here — the start of the 2009 NFL season.   As I do every year, I’ll predict that my NY football Jets will go 10-6.   Not sure if that will get them into the playoffs, but just like countless predictions I’ve made before in previous seasons, 10-6 it is!

Out here in LA, pretty much since I’ve moved here I’ve been watching the games at the bar with about 30-40 Jets fans I’ve connected with.  I don’t go to all 16 games at the bar, but I usually make out for about 10 or so.  It’s always a good time.  It’s nice.  I don’t have to yell at the Jets after every play because there are 39 other people doing it for me.

Anyway, for various reasons over the years, we’ve moved the meeting place from Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica, to Gotham in Santa Monica, and now we’re at Q’s Billiards, in which I guess is considered West LA.

So, just like the Jets who’ve moved from the Polo Grounds to Shea Stadium to the Meadowlands, we are true nomads as well —- always on the move until we can find our home……someday we’ll be home boys.
