While I’m highly skeptical of politicians switching parties mid-career, I’m way less skeptical of people who decide to “switch religions.”  When it comes to religion and trying to figure out the answers to life’s big questions, we are really in the dark.  As much trouble as humans have in terms of building ideal governments and political structures, we have even less information when it comes to figuring out the meaning of life, etc.

In my opinion, changes in political beliefs can often occur gradually, and evolve over time.  Religion and spirituality are more like explorations– a trial and error if you will.   Feel free to combine religions and beliefs.   Feel free to jump around and go back and forth Bob Dylan style.

Whatever gives you the illusion of comfort, and gives you the illusion that you are getting closer to understanding the mysteries of the universe —— is cool with me.
