Well, I finally saw Avatar. I’ll spare you my review.
What I did want to share was my rather offensive idea for a sequel. Along with the help of a friend, here’s what we came up with.
In Avatar, Jake Sully (the lead) suffers from a physical disability, leaving him a paraplegic.
For the sequel, let’s go with a mentally challenged character instead — of course to be portrayed by Sean Penn.
k I guess I go to hell now

20|Jan|2010 1From what I’ve heard “Avatar” is a lot of stupid cliches made tolerable only by the overwhelming lot of 3-D special effects. Any truth to the rumor?

20|Jan|2010 2In my opinion, yes. I found the movie entertaining and visually stunning, and didn’t even mind that it was 2 hours 40 minutes long. I did mind that the dialogue was poor, the characters were often cliches, and the story had plenty of holes. No reason it deserves best picture from the Golden Globes. I don’t believe in awards, but if I did, “best pictures” should certainly excel in all areas of filmmaking — which Avatar certainly did not.
