Right around the time just before Pau Gasol was traded to the Lakers a couple of seasons ago, I started to really watch Lakers games regularly on TV. I guess I consider myself a faux-Lakers fan.
Lakers and their fans often get a lot of shit, because in addition to me, many fans aren’t considered “real fans.”
Many consider it a joke when celebrities go to the games. You’ll hear stuff like “Oh, they just go to the games to be seen, because it’s cool”
This is unfair. Unfair! In addition to Jack Nicholson, there are plenty of other die hard celebrity fans at Lakers games. Because somebody is famous means they can’t be a real fan? Do celebrities not eat, shit, breathe, and put their socks on one at a time like the rest of us?
Well they do — and many of them actually genuinely care about the Lakers as well.
