Groundhog Day is pretty much a stupid and pointless holiday.  It’s filled with moronic superstition, but even worse we don’t even get off of school/work for it!

The stakes on Groundhog Day aren’t very high.  I say we up the ante.

If the groundhog does not see his shadow, it’s all good.  Winter will soon be over.

However, if the groundhog sees his shadow, and 6 more weeks of winter is upon us, we really oughta beat Punxsutawney Phil to death, either via sticks or via stoning.

Hey, I’m all for adding drama and intrigue to an otherwise meaningless “holiday.”
